There’s no doubt that take out food is delicious, but in most cases it really isn’t good for our waistlines. Pizza and burritos certainly aren’t going to help you on your diet, but let’s face it, sometimes it’s hard to resist the urge to skip cooking and dial a few numbers for dinner.
Well, now there’s an app that will allow you to place that take out order, but keep you on your healthy track as well. The Order Healthy app, which launched this past fall, gives users tips to make healthy decisions when they're ordering in. They rate menu items based on calories from fat, total fat, saturated fat, cholesterol, sodium and carbohydrates. Dishes that are the least healthy are indicated in red, while yellow means they are moderately healthy, and green denotes the healthiest choices.
And no, users aren’t just limited to health food restaurants. There are currently 10,000 restaurants listed in the app, in cities like New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Boston, Chicago and 33 others.
