Russell Dickerson Explains Why He Rocked Wife's Earring On CMA Red Carpet

Russell Dickerson hit the red carpet for the CMA Awards on Wednesday (November 13) with his wife, Kailey, by his side and her earring in his ear. A few days have passed since country music's big night, and Dickerson is finally sharing his reasoning behind wearing the long, dangling earring.

Apparently, it all started with the wives of Lady Antebellum including Charles Kelley's wife, Cassie, Dave Haywood's wife, Kelli, and singer in the band, Hillary Scott. The ladies bet that he wouldn't wear his wife's dangly earring on the CMA Red Carpet, so naturally he had to prove them all wrong.

The country singer took to Instagram Friday morning (November 15) to share his reasoning for the accessory in honor of Lady Antebellum's new album, Ocean, which was released on Friday.

His caption read, "In honor of @ladyantebellum’s record out today, this is the result of the wives of @ladyantebellum betting I wouldn’t wear my wife’s earring on the @cma red carpet. #BestDressedList 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 HAPPY OCEANS DAY @ladyantebellum!!!"

Dickerson most recently scored his third No. 1 with his single "Every Little Thing." The hit song follows up his previous chart topping tracks, "Yours" and "Blue Tacoma."

Bursting with excitement, the country singer took to Twitter share with his followers that "Every Little Thing" officially reached No. 1. He wrote, "THIS IS INSANE! #EVERYLITTLETHING IS OFFICIALLY THE NUMBER ONE SONG ON COUNTRY RADIO! HUGE thank you to country radio, my team, and the #RDFam that made THREE #1’s IN A ROW happen!!!!!!"

Dickerson will hit the road in 2020 to open up for Kane Brown on his international "Worldwide Beautiful Tour." The international trek will kick off in Dublin in February followed by stops in London, Amsterdam, Paris, and Berlin. The tour will then back its way back home for a North American leg starting in Atlantic City on February 29. Tickets to the tour are available now.

Joining Dickerson and Brown will also be fellow country singer, Chris Lane. Additional supporting acts are expected to be announced later this year.
