Zayn Malik Unveils Music Video Teaser For New Song 'Better': Watch

Zayn is returning with a new song this week!

The pop star signaled his music comeback this morning with the announcement of his next single, “Better.” Taking to Instagram this morning, the musician teased an instrumental snippet of the track along with a preview of the music video, both set to premiere this Friday (September 25).

Without giving too much away, “Better” sounds like it’ll tap into Zayn’s signature R&B sound, likely another romantic love ballad as he’s been known for. If so, it'll be a refreshing switch-up from his high-energy R3hab collab “Flames,” which landed way back in January.

As for the visual teaser, it looks like someone is using binoculars to spy on Zayn, who appears shirtless while walking in front of a wide window. Other scenes appear to show an antiquated tape record and record player. See the teaser below.

As aforementioned, “Better” will be Zayn’s first single release in over eight months. Although it’s unclear whether the track will be followed by an album announcement, we’re holding out hope on receiving a follow-up to 2018’s Icarus Falls, which produced earworms like “Let Me,” “Sour Diesel,” and “Fingers.”

Apart from a handful of other collaborations with Sabrina Claudio (“Rumors”), SHAED (“Trampoline”), and Zhavia Ward (“A Whole New World”) in 2019, Zayn has remained reasonably quiet on unveiling new music projects this year — and considering his imminent fatherhood, it’s not too hard to believe.

As fans know, Zayn is expecting his first child, a daughter, with girlfriend Gigi Hadid, who is reportedly expected to give birth sometime this month.
