(Lebanon, PA) -- Investigators are identifying the two women killed in a Lebanon fire last week. Summer Boltz and Katisha Williams were killed when the blaze broke out at their home on North Eleventh Street Friday morning. The three kids who listed at the home were staying with their grandparents at the time of the fire. The cause of the fire is still unknown.
(Harrisburg, PA) -- Positive COVID-19 cases are continuing to rise in Pennsylvania. The Pennsylvania Department of Health announced almost four-thousand new positive cases yesterday. There are currently over 3,900 people in the state who are hospitalized with the coronavirus. Of those cases, there are nearly 800 people recovering in an intensive care unit. The total number of positive cases in the state is now over 807,000 since the beginning of the pandemic.

(Harrisburg, PA) -- A special election to fill the vacant 48th state senatorial district seat is getting an official date. Lieutenant Governor John Fetterman announced yesterday that there will be a special election held on May 18th to fill the seat that has been vacant since the recent death of Senator Dave Arnold. The senate seat represents all of Lebanon County as well as parts of Dauphin and York. The winner of the election will hold the position for the rest of Arnold's term which will run through November 2022.

(Harrisburg, PA) -- Fishermen in Pennsylvania are going to be able to try to catch trout a little earlier this year. The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission announced yesterday that this year's trout season is set to start on April 3rd. The Opening Day for the trout season is scheduled two weeks earlier than normal because of a consolidated schedule that had to be made due to the COVID-19 pandemic. A single statewide Mentored Youth Trout Day is going to be held on March 27th as well.

(York, PA) -- A couple from York is now behind bars for charges related to the rape of a child. West Manchester Township Police Department announced yesterday that Joshua and Jamie Pope have been arrested. The investigation began earlier this month when the department was notified that there were sexual text messages sent from the couple found on the minor's phone. It was later determined by the York County Forensics Lab that the couple had sexual contact with the victim multiple times last year. The couple is facing several charges including rape of a child, statutory sexual assault and indecent assault.

(Fairview Township, PA) -- A man from York County who is being accused of dragging a police officer with his vehicle is now behind bars. U.S. Marshals arrested 40-year-old Shane Eckert in a hotel room in Fairview Township yesterday. He is being charged with aggravated assault and fleeing or attempting to elude an officer after he drove away from a traffic stop in West Manchester Township earlier this month. Police say Eckert dragged an officer for a short distance with his vehicle as he drove away from the attempted stop.

(York, PA) -- Officials with Central York say they are closing the high school for in-person learning through Wednesday. The school district confirmed new positive COVID-19 cases recently, with the total reaching ten over a two week span. The Met-Ed Penelec Sustainable Energy Fund awarded Bern Township's Solarflux Energy Technologies the grant yesterday. Officials for the company say the money will be used to improve its efforts in developing a solar dish concentrator that can deliver clean and inexpensive thermal energy.
>>Five People In Lancaster Charged After Drug Bust
(Lancaster, PA) -- Five people are now behind bars after a drug bust in Lancaster. Lancaster Police announced yesterday that they successfully executed a search warrant this past Thursday at a home in the 500-block of Beaver Street. Investigators say over 250 vials of crack cocaine, about 550 wax packets of heroin, Suboxone pills and more than 14-thousand-dollars in cash were found during the search. Three residents are facing charges for possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and criminal conspiracy. Two other people who were present in the home are being charged with possession of heroin, crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia.

(Reading, PA) -- A Berks County teenager is being charged as an adult for allegedly shooting at a home in Reading. The shooting happened over the weekend at a house in the eleven-hundred-block of Marion Street. Police say 17-year-old Kevin Desiderio fired a gun at the house while people were inside. He is being charged with robbery, making terroristic threats, aggravated assault and discharging a firearm into an occupied structure.

(West Reading, PA) -- West Reading Police are asking the public for help in finding a man who allegedly assaulted an elderly man. The incident happened Sunday evening in the 400-block of Chestnut Street. Police say the man was a passenger in a sedan, and the department has released surveillance pictures of the suspect they're searching for. (Muhlenberg Township, PA) -- The search for a man who was accused of shoplifting is over after he was found dead in a water-filled quarry in Muhlenberg Township. The Berks County coroner's office confirmed yesterday that it has identified the body pulled from the quarry over the weekend as 23-year-old Joshua Fontanez-Rodriguez of Schuylkill County. Officials say the 23-year-old was involved in a shoplifting attempt at a Target store before he ran behind the building and fell into the water-filled quarry.

(Pine Grove, PA) -- A Pine Grove man is in police custody following a death investigation at a home along North Tulpehocken Street in Pine Grove Sunday afternoon. Police say Kalvin Clark told them he got into an argument with his grandmother on Saturday night when he grabbed her mouth to keep the neighbors from hearing her yell, then she fell down the stairs. Clark left her on the ground the whole night without her phone to call police. Police found her dead the next day. The 73-year-old had bruises all over her body and a substantial facial injury, but the investigation is ongoing. So far, Clark is facing charges of aggravated and simple assault.
