Billie Eilish Says She's Begun To Feel Less Confident As She Gets Older

Billie Eilish achieved massive success all by the age of 14 with her debut single, "Ocean Eyes." Going on to have a career that continues to reach astronomical heights, she has long carried herself with poise while on stage or on the red carpet but has remained relatively out of the public eye when it comes to her day-to-day and personal life. With the release of her documentary, Billie Eilish: The World's a Little Blurry, fans were able to get a closer look into who Eilish was.

Speaking with Drew Barrymore on The Drew Barrymore Show, the two began talking about the documentary, and Eilish revealed that she's found herself having less confidence as she's been growing older.

"You know I've always been very, very strong-willed and honest, which I think is like a blessing and a curse but the funny thing is that the older I've gotten, the less confident I've gotten and it kind of made me like, because I re-watched the doc a few weeks ago, and it made me cry because I was thinking how free-spirited I was and how open-minded I was and then it's like the media just like tears it away from you," Eilish said. "And it's like it's not fun right now so I'm trying to, I'm figuring it out."

Eilish's confession goes to show that no matter how much external validation a person receives, it won't matter much unless internal validation and confidence can come along with it.

Eilish was recently named one of Time magazine's 100 Most Influential People, alongside Lil Nas X, Britney Spears, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, and more. The singer also turned heads at this year's Met Gala as she wore an Oscar de la Renta ballgown, Eilish agreeing to wear the designer on the condition that they agree to ban fur from their designs moving forward. The "No Time To Die" singer also revealed that her James Bond theme song contains a hidden easter egg, a sample of the classic Bond opening sting in the song's second verse.

While Eilish has been dealing with her internal confidence, the singer did state that she views success as internal. "Success is internal. It has nothing to do with anyone but yourself. Joy and love for yourself," Eilish said.

Eilish is performing at this year's iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas in September alongside a lineup of superstar artists. Fans across the country can tune in and watch an exclusive live stream of the show via The CW App and CWTV.com. Then, on October 2nd and 3rd, relive all of the epic performances from the weekend during a televised special on The CW Network at 8 p.m. ET/PT. And leading up to the official television special, The CW will also air an hour-long Best Of Special on Sunday, September 29th at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
