A York County doctor, Christopher Davis, age 63, has been charged with several offenses, including rape and sexual extortion, for allegedly coercing female patients into sexual acts in exchange for treatment. Davis, who was the medical director at Pyramid Healthcare Treatment Center, is accused of using his position to manipulate patients seeking methadone, a medication used for opioid addiction treatment.
According to the Pennsylvania Attorney General's Office, Davis was the sole provider of methadone at the facility, giving him significant control over patients' access to the medication. The alleged incidents occurred between 2022 and 2024. If patients refused his advances, Davis reportedly threatened to withhold their treatment.
Attorney General Dave Sunday stated, "This doctor abused his role as a gatekeeper to necessary medications for vulnerable patients by manipulating, intimidating, and assaulting numerous patients." The case is being prosecuted by Senior Deputy Attorney General Robert Smulktis and Deputy Attorney General Christy Schlottman of the Drug Strike Force Section.
Davis was arrested on April 30 and is currently held at York County Prison with bail set at $1 million. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 14. Anyone with additional information is encouraged to contact the Attorney General's Office. Patients who have lost access to care can reach out to the Patient Advocacy Program for assistance.
