In Lebanon County, Pennsylvania, a tragic accident occurred on Saturday (May 3) evening, resulting in the deaths of two drivers, while a child miraculously survived. The crash happened at the intersection of Palmyra Bellegrove Road and Syner Road in North Annville Township. According to Cleona Borough Police, a motorcycle and an SUV collided around 7 p.m.
The drivers, identified as 28-year-old Luis Enrique Ortiz from South Annville Township and 26-year-old Zachary Long from North Annville Township, were pronounced dead at the scene by the Lebanon County Coroner’s Office. The SUV's sole passenger, a five-year-old boy, managed to crawl out of the wreckage and was found by first responders on the roadside. He was transported to Penn State Hershey Medical Center for evaluation and has since been reunited with his mother.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation, and the intersection was closed for approximately four hours as authorities gathered evidence. The North Annville Fire Department and Annville-Cleona Fire Department assisted Cleona officers at the scene. Local21 News reported that the area has seen an increase in accidents, with concerns about speeding and distracted driving.
LebTown noted that Cleona Borough Police are contracted to provide services for North Annville Township, and they continue to investigate the details leading up to the crash.
