Dollar General has announced a recall of three lots of its eight-ounce Clover Valley Instant Coffee due to potential glass contamination. The recall affects products sold between July 9 and July 21, 2025, across numerous states, including Alabama, California, Florida, and New York. The affected lots are L-5163 and L-5164, with a best-by date of December 13, 2026, and L-5165, with a best-by date of December 14, 2026. Customers can find this information around the neck of the coffee jar.

The recall was initiated after a customer reported the potential presence of glass in the product. Consuming glass fragments can cause serious injuries, such as damage to teeth, lacerations in the mouth and throat, or even perforation of the intestine. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported so far.

Customers who purchased the affected coffee are advised to discard it and contact Dollar General for a full refund. They can reach customer service via email at customercare@dollargeneral.com or by phone at 1-888-309-9030 from 6 a.m. to 1 a.m. CST, seven days a week. Dollar General is investigating the source of the contamination and is conducting the recall with the knowledge of the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA).
