Authorities in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, are actively searching for Edward Lee McDowell, a 28-year-old man from York, who is wanted in connection with a home invasion and stabbing incident. The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday (August 24) on Old West Chocolate Avenue in Derry Township.
According to the Derry Township Police Department, McDowell allegedly entered the residence while a 43-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman were asleep. The woman awoke to the sound of the man yelling, as McDowell reportedly stabbed him in the forehead. When the woman attempted to intervene, she was stabbed in the hand. McDowell allegedly threatened to kill the male victim before fleeing the scene.
Both victims were treated for their injuries at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and are expected to survive. The police have issued a warrant for McDowell's arrest on charges including burglary, aggravated assault, and terroristic threats. The police believe McDowell targeted the victims, and there is no known threat to the wider community.
