Family Of Child Injured In Festival Crash Give Update

The family of six-year-old Faiz Sharif has provided an update on his condition following a tragic incident at the Kipona Festival in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Faiz is now in stable condition after sustaining multiple life-threatening injuries when a vehicle drove into a crowd on Monday night (September 1). He has undergone several surgeries to address his injuries, which include multiple broken bones and a fractured pelvis.

The alleged driver, 37-year-old Elizabeth Ann Bohrer, reportedly drove a red minivan through barriers and into the crowd on North Front Street. She faces several charges, including aggravated assault by vehicle and driving under the influence (DUI). Harrisburg Mayor Wanda Williams confirmed that two other individuals, a city traffic engineering worker and a woman in a wheelchair, were also injured and are in stable condition.

The Sharif family has expressed gratitude for the medical team's efforts and asked for privacy as Faiz continues his recovery. They have also launched a GoFundMe campaign to raise $10,000 to support his recovery.

As the investigation continues, Dauphin County District Attorney Fran Chardo confirmed Bohrer's suspected DUI status. The community remains hopeful for Faiz's recovery, with the family requesting continued prayers and support.
