(Undated) -- Notifications of a 92-million dollar TikTok settlement are not a scam. Users received notifications Monday about submitting a claim for compensation. TikTok's parent company, ByteDance, agreed in February to pay 92-million dollars to settle allegations that it harvested users' personal data without their consent. People in the U.S. who used TikTok before October 1st can submit claims for one share of the settlement. If everyone who's eligible submits a claim, most will get about 96 cents. TikTok users can submit claims at the TikTok data privacy settlement website, by March 1st.
