Lactaid Milk Recalled in 27 States Due to Unlisted Almond Allergen

HP Hood LLC is voluntarily recalling five types of 96-ounce containers of Lactaid milk due to the potential presence of trace amounts of almonds, which are not listed on the product labels. The recall, which affects products shipped to retailers and wholesalers in 27 states from September 5 to September 18, 2024, was announced by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on September 19, 2024. The states affected include Alabama, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, North Carolina, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.

The recall applies to whole, 1%, 2%, fat-free, and 2% calcium-enriched Lactaid Milk with the code 51-4109 P2 and "best by" dates ranging from November 22, 2024, to December 5, 2024. The issue was discovered during routine maintenance programs, which revealed the potential for trace amounts of almond. No illnesses or allergic reactions have been reported to date.
