WellSpan: Two Seriously Injured In York County Police-Involved Shooting

YORK COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — Officials have confirmed two people are in serious condition after a reported officer-involved shooting Tuesday afternoon.

A helicopter and multiple fire police have been called to the area of the 1800 block of Haar Road, according to an online dispatch records from York County.

A WellSpan representative told CBS 21:

Wellspan York Hospital is currently treating two individuals related to the police incident in North Codorus Township. Both are in serious condition. Enhanced security protocols are in place at the hospital. We will share more details as they become available.

No other details have been given regarding the injured individuals and if there have been any fatalities.

The district said local authorities advised the district to hold all staff and students in the buildings as a precaution.

That shelter in place has since ended as of 4:10 p.m.

Ted Czech, the public information officer for York County, confirmed that a call initially came in around 2:10 p.m. for a police incident.

Governor Josh Shapiro released a statement online shortly after the incident saying he is on his way to the area, and "We ask those in the area to please follow the directions of local law enforcement and PA State Police."

CBS 21 reached out to WellSpan Hospital in York and confirmed that the facility is on lockdown due to a "police shooting."

CBS 21 has a crew at the scene and is expecting an update from emergency management soon.
