The Greensburg Business and Professional Association in Pennsylvania is gearing up to attempt a world record for the most people blowing bubble gum bubbles simultaneously. The event is set for Saturday (June 14) in downtown Greensburg, during the association's annual Summer in the City festival. Organizers are seeking at least 1,200 participants to surpass the current record of 881 people, set in New Jersey in 2018.

Participants will gather on South Pennsylvania Avenue, where part of the street will be closed for the festivities. The attempt will take place at noon, signaled by a fire whistle, and will be part of a broader event featuring live music, a pet parade, games, and food vendors. According to TribLIVE, Amy Beeghly, president of the Greensburg Business & Professional Association, expressed excitement about the potential to make history for Greensburg.

To ensure the record attempt is officially recognized, volunteers are needed to document the event. One volunteer marshal is required for every 50 participants to record a 30-second video of the bubble-blowing action. Participants can preregister online or sign up on the day of the event. Parking will be free at the Bell Garage, with a shuttle service running from Lynch Field to South Pennsylvania Avenue.

In addition to the bubble gum event, Summer in the City will include various activities, such as a chalk art contest and fire truck tours. The community is encouraged to come out and support the event, with T-shirts available for purchase to commemorate the occasion.
