The Pennsylvania Farm Show's iconic butter sculpture, weighing in at one thousand pounds, is set to be transformed into renewable energy. After the show concluded, the sculpture was dismantled and transported to a farm in Mifflintown, Pennsylvania. This farm specializes in processing approximately 60,000 tons of food waste annually.
The butter will undergo a breakdown process in a methane digester, which converts it into renewable energy. This year's sculpture depicted the signing of the Declaration of Independence, celebrating the 250th anniversary of the United States. The recycling of the butter sculpture not only highlights innovative waste management practices but also contributes to sustainable energy solutions in the region.
