- Donate to reputable nonprofits and charities - Charity Navigator has a list of highly-rated groups that focus on delivering general aid and relief, medical services and hygiene kids, as well as food, water, and basic shelter. Some of those organizations are Heart to Heart International, World Vision, Direct Relief, Project HOPE, Water Mission, and World Help. Not included on that list but also on the ground helping victims are Indonesian Red Cross Society, Red Cross Australia, UNICEF, Oxfam, and CARE Australia.
- Try to help the most vulnerable communities - Humanity and Inclusion is a U.S.-based nonprofit that promotes disability rights and they’re taking donations for tsunami survivors with serious injuries and disabilities. Save the Children is in Indonesia providing medical care and child-friendly spaces in shelters along with diapers and cribs.
