The utilization of face masks will be optional for students, staff, and visitors to the Big Spring School District campuses for the start of the 2021-2022 school year. The use of face masks is encouraged for those that have not been vaccinated but will not be required. Face masks will be available for those that choose to wear a mask and do not have one available.
Students have the option of returning fully face to face five days a week or fully remote through the Big Spring Cyber Academy.
Staff and students will NOT be required to wear face masks while at school or at district events unless PDE or DoH requirements dictate.
Lion Academy will be offered as a full-time virtual learning option.
All students and staff will be required to wear masks while traveling on school buses/vans and while indoors.
Students outside at recess or physical education classes may remove their masks.

East Pennsboro Area School District
District students will attend school Monday through Friday in person to begin the 2021-22 school year.
Masks will be optional in the school setting and will be provided for students or staff upon request.
Mechanicsburg Area School District
The extent to which face coverings and physical distancing strategies will be utilized will be based on requirements and guidance from the CDC, PADOH, PDE, and local health officials.

(Harrisburg, PA) -- The Central Dauphin School board has approved an indoor mask mandate for students and staff in all schools for the fall semester that starts next Monday. The board voted last night 7-to-2 to approve the new health and safety policy following more than two hours of debate by more than 50 parents. Superintendent Norman Miller says he recommended approval of the plan as the best option to continue in-person instruction this year.

Harrisburg City School District
To provide in-person learning at our brick and mortar schools, cyber blended learning at Cougar Academy, and 100% virtual learning at the Harrisburg Virtual Learning Academy, the Harrisburg School District will follow its state approved Health and Safety Plan, and public health standards from the CDC and the Pennsylvania Department of Health. In addition to cleaning and disinfecting high touch surfaces, and providing thermal imaging/temperature screening, we will continue our commitment to mitigate risks associated with the spread of COVID-19 by adherence to mask wearing in schools and promoting good handwashing for a minimum of 20 seconds. As aresult of Pennsylvania lifting its mask mandate on June 28, 2021, and in absence of a binding
order requiring masks to be worn, the wearing of masks will be optional. Each family will have the
choice of whether or not to wear a mask in school.

Elizabethtown Area School District
In-school, face-to-face instruction will take place in a classroom setting five days a week across all grade levels.
Ephrata Virtual Academy Flex will continue to offer virtual instruction identical to cyber charter programs.
The Hempfield School District will adhere to any existing, valid and legal/binding orders from the PA Dept. of Health regarding facial coverings. We will review any recommendations from the CDC and determine if/how we can implement prevention and mitigation measures, to the greatest extent practicable based on our community/district needs. In the absence of an existing, valid and legal/binding order, masks are NOT required in our schools and/or at district activities. In the absence of an existing, valid and legal/binding order, it is certainly acceptable for someone who wishes to wear a facial covering, as defined by the PA DOH, regardless of vaccination status, to do so in our schools and/or at district activities.

Unvaccinated individuals (staff and students) will be encouraged to wear a face covering or face shield when indoors: (hallways, classrooms, and common areas).
Fully vaccinated individuals will NOT be required to wear a face covering indoors or outdoors.
Staff and students when engaging in high exertion outdoor activities, including but not limited to, athletics, exercise, or play activities, will NOT be required to wear masks when actively engaged in those activities.
