Cumberland County

Big Spring School District

The utilization of face masks will be optional for students, staff, and visitors to the Big Spring School District campuses for the start of the 2021-2022 school year. The use of face masks is encouraged for those that have not been vaccinated but will not be required. Face masks will be available for those that choose to wear a mask and do not have one available.

Students have the option of returning fully face to face five days a week or fully remote through the Big Spring Cyber Academy.

Camp Hill School District

Staff and students will NOT be required to wear face masks while at school or at district events unless PDE or DoH requirements dictate.

Lion Academy will be offered as a full-time virtual learning option.

Carlisle Area School District

All students and staff will be required to wear masks while traveling on school buses/vans and while indoors.

Students outside at recess or physical education classes may remove their masks.

Cumberland Perry Area Vocational Technical School

Cumberland Valley School District

In Person Learning with Virtual Academy available

Students and staff may continue to wear a mask on CVSD transportation and in CVSD facilities but will not be required to wear them.

East Pennsboro Area School District

District students will attend school Monday through Friday in person to begin the 2021-22 school year.

Masks will be optional in the school setting and will be provided for students or staff upon request.

Mechanicsburg Area School District

The extent to which face coverings and physical distancing strategies will be utilized will be based on requirements and guidance from the CDC, PADOH, PDE, and local health officials.

Shippensburg School District

Total reopen for all students and staff.

Masks will be optional for all students and staff except on buses, regardless of vaccination status.

South Middleton School District

Full in-person learning five days a week.

Face coverings are NOT required.

West Shore School District

All schools will be open for in-person instruction daily.

Staff and students will NOT be required to wear face masks while at school. Staff and students will be required to wear a face mask while riding school transportation in alignment with a federal CDC mandate regarding public transportation.

Both full-time and blended virtual learning options rtual Learning Academy will be offered.

Dauphin County

Central Dauphin School District

>>Central Dauphin School Board Approves Indoor Mask Mandate UPDATED 08/24/21

(Harrisburg, PA) -- The Central Dauphin School board has approved an indoor mask mandate for students and staff in all schools for the fall semester that starts next Monday. The board voted last night 7-to-2 to approve the new health and safety policy following more than two hours of debate by more than 50 parents. Superintendent Norman Miller says he recommended approval of the plan as the best option to continue in-person instruction this year.

Derry Township School District

DTSD is very excited to welcome students back into our buildings for a full in-person, five-day-a-week learning environment in August of 2021.

Halifax Area School District

Plan for Fall 2021: HASD will begin the 2021-2022 school year with masks being voluntary for all students and staff.

Harrisburg City School District

To provide in-person learning at our brick and mortar schools, cyber blended learning at Cougar Academy, and 100% virtual learning at the Harrisburg Virtual Learning Academy, the Harrisburg School District will follow its state approved Health and Safety Plan, and public health standards from the CDC and the Pennsylvania Department of Health. In addition to cleaning and disinfecting high touch surfaces, and providing thermal imaging/temperature screening, we will continue our commitment to mitigate risks associated with the spread of COVID-19 by adherence to mask wearing in schools and promoting good handwashing for a minimum of 20 seconds. For more information, please access the information links below. Lower Dauphin School District

Face coverings for students while on district transportation will be required as per federal law.

Use of face coverings for students and staff in all other school settings will be optional.

Middletown Area School District

Plan for Fall 2021: The District will make the wearing of face coverings inside District buildings a recommendation, not a requirement, for all students and staff who remain unvaccinated.

Students will have two options:

  1. Full return to brick-and-mortar classes.
  2. Enrollment in the District online learning platform, Raider Academy, through Accelerate Education courses.

Donegal School District

As aresult of Pennsylvania lifting its mask mandate on June 28, 2021, and in absence of a binding

order requiring masks to be worn, the wearing of masks will be optional. Each family will have the

choice of whether or not to wear a mask in school.

Eastern Lancaster County School District

Elizabethtown Area School District

Ephrata Area School District

In-school, face-to-face instruction will take place in a classroom setting five days a week across all grade levels.

Ephrata Virtual Academy Flex will continue to offer virtual instruction identical to cyber charter programs.

Hempfield School District

The Hempfield School District will adhere to any existing, valid and legal/binding orders from the PA Dept. of Health regarding facial coverings. We will review any recommendations from the CDC and determine if/how we can implement prevention and mitigation measures, to the greatest extent practicable based on our community/district needs. In the absence of an existing, valid and legal/binding order, masks are NOT required in our schools and/or at district activities. In the absence of an existing, valid and legal/binding order, it is certainly acceptable for someone who wishes to wear a facial covering, as defined by the PA DOH, regardless of vaccination status, to do so in our schools and/or at district activities.

Lampeter-Strasburg School District

Manheim Township School District

Octorara Area School District

Unvaccinated individuals (staff and students) will be encouraged to wear a face covering or face shield when indoors: (hallways, classrooms, and common areas).

Fully vaccinated individuals will NOT be required to wear a face covering indoors or outdoors.

Staff and students when engaging in high exertion outdoor activities, including but not limited to, athletics, exercise, or play activities, will NOT be required to wear masks when actively engaged in those activities.

Penn Manor School District

● In the absence of an existing, valid and binding order, it is acceptable for someone who wishes to wear a facial covering to do so, as defined by the PA DOH, regardless of vaccination status, in our schools and/or at district activities.

Open for in-person instruction five days a week.

There is no masking or vaccination requirement.

The district will continue to operate Penn Manor Virtual School for online instruction.

Pequea Valley School District

  • Our schools will be open for in-person instruction five (5) days a week. Pequea Valley Virtual Academy (PVV) will continue to be available for all families wishing to utilize this option. Please contact your building principal for more information on PVV.
  • Staff and learners will have the option to wear face coverings while at school.
  • Face coverings will be required, regardless of vaccination status, when on public transportation; this includes on school buses operated by public and private school systems.

Solanco School District

Plan for Fall 2021: To be determined.

Warwick School District

At this time, masks are optional in school and at school events. Masks are required on district transportation due to a federal mandate from the CDC.

Warwick will not offer a virtual pandemic learning option for students.

Lebanon

Annville-Cleona School District

Masks will be optional for all students and staff in the buildings regardless of vaccination status. Masks will continue to be encouraged.

Masks will be required on School Buses per a Federal Mandate. 

Cornwall-Lebanon School District

Face Covering are optional except on transportation

Eastern Lebanon County School District

Lebanon School District

Plan for Fall 2021: Schools will be open for in-person instruction daily.

Staff and students will NOT be required to wear face masks while at school.

Staff and students will NOT be required to be vaccinated in order to work at or attend our schools.

Northern Lebanon School District

Masks are no longer mandatory and will be optional for students in the 2021-2022 school year.

Palmyra Area School District
