(Dallastown, PA) -- Officials with Dallastown Area School District are reporting their seventh confirmed COVID-19 positive test through eight days of school. Their superintendent says they will continue to follow state guidance and remain open, thought he does warn families to be ready in case they have to close a school. Dallastown’s positive tests came from both their student body and their staff.

(Harrisburg, PA) -- The Green Party will not have a candidate for President on the General Election ballot in P-A. In a state Supreme Court ruling Thursday, it was determined nominee Howie Hawkins didn’t strictly follow the required procedures to appear on the ballot. In 2016, Donald Trump beat Democratic nominee Hilary Clinton by roughly 44,000-votes, while Green Party candidate Jill Stein was able to obtain just short of 50-thousand votes.

(Millersburg, PA) -- A jury in Dauphin County is convicting a Millersburg man on charges he sexually assaulted an intellectually disabled girl. Richard Raker was accused of assaulting the-then-15-year-old girl in May of 2016 at his home. The jury convicted 59-year-old Raker after deliberating for 35 minutes. There’s no word on a sentencing date.

(Quintin, PA) -- Investigators say a missing 31-year-old man from Lebanon County has been found safe. Timothy Gunnells of Quentin was found Wednesday in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware after being reported missing Sunday. Family members were afraid for his well-being due to mental health issues leading up to his disappearance.

(State College, PA) -- State College School Board is moving forward with a plan to restart fall sports. Their school board voted seven-to-two to start competition for contact fall sports and voted unanimously to begin non-contact sports, according to Pennlive. That leaves only Harrisburg and Milton Hershey schools as the only Mid-Penn Conference schools not participating in fall athletics.

James Gettys Elementary in the Gettysburg School District had two staff members test positive for the virus and were notified of the positives on Wednesday. All high school classes are being held virtually until September 22nd after two students tested positive as well.
(Reading, PA) -- Police in Reading say they spent part of Thursday night investigating a shooting. It happened on the 400 block of Washington Street with at least one person has been taken away in an ambulance. There’s no word on what led to the shooting, nor the extent of their injuries.

(Lancaster, PA) -- Bail is modified for nine of the 13 people charged following protests in Lancaster this week. Judge Bruce Roth initially set bail at one-million-dollars, saying Lancaster police requested high bail. Several organizations along with Lieutenant Governor John Fetterman called those bail amounts unconstitutional, leading Roth to decrease bail on some of those charged to between $50,000 and $100,000 each.

(West Brunswick Twp., PA) -- State police say they arrested a Berks County man and a New York man after a nearly 12-hour search in southern Schuylkill County. The search forced officials to close a stretch of Route 61 between Berks and Schuylkill counties for hours Wednesday into Thursday. State police say the two men are suspects in an armed robbery in the Frackville area, and they led police on a chase down Route 61 before taking off on foot. The men were nabbed near Route 895 in West Brunswick Township.

(Lower Alsace Twp., PA) -- Central Berks Regional Police are looking for two vehicles that may be connected to a Lower Alsace Township shooting this week. It happened late Wednesday afternoon near Carsonia and Harvey avenues, with no reports of anyone injured. Police are asking anyone that may recognize the vehicles caught on surveillance images to contact them.

(Reading, PA) -- Reading School District is receiving over $850,000 in COVID-19 related grants. District leaders say the funds will be used to offset the costs of purchasing computers, atypical COVID-19 supplies like inhalers and thermometers, and to support trauma-sensitive classrooms. The grants came from the United Way of Berks County’s COVID-19 Response Fund and the COVID-19 school safety and health grant program.

Restaurant restrictions and alcohol limitations are being loosened after Governor Tom Wolf and health secretary Dr. Rachel Levine signed the orders yesterday. Last week the governor announced that restaurants can offer up to 50-percent capacity for indoor dining starting September 21st and the orders being signed makes it official. Not only can restaurants allow more capacity for indoor dining, alcohol can now be sold until 11 p.m. instead of 10 p.m. starting Monday. However, all bars and nightclubs still cannot serve alcohol to customers unless it is accompanied by a meal.

The former Vice President slammed President Trump's handling of the pandemic, emphasizing that he doesn't trust him when it comes to a COVID-19 vaccine and instead lays his faith in Dr. Anthony Fauci. This comes just about six weeks away from election day.

The group says as physicians, they're concerned that blind, unquestioning loyalty to President Trump by elected officials in Harrisburg is getting in the way of good health policies and endangering people's lives. Republicans have echoed the President's words toward the governor and others, urging them to reopen their states amid surging cases of COVID-19. The committee added that it is their job as physicians to speak out when they see harm being done and they say it is being done right now to the people of Pennsylvania.

(Harrisburg, PA) -- Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf is calling for additional hazard pay for essential workers amid the pandemic. Wolf is asking the state legislature to use an additional $225-million from CARES Act funds to fund the hazard pay program. He says it would cover a three-dollars-an-hour increase in pay for more than 200-thousand essential workers in Pennsylvania and compensate them for the additional risks they take working amid the pandemic.
