In a letter to members this week, Power Train Sports officials said they will close their East Granada Avenue location for good October 16th. Their lease with the township and the school district was up for renewal on October 31st, with gym representatives saying they couldn’t reach an agreement. They added that despite reopening in late June, they hadn’t been able to recover financially.

(Harrisburg, PA) -- The P-A Department of Health is adding 853 new COVID-19 cases to the Commonwealth’s total. That brings P-A to 153-thousand-397 confirmed or probable coronavirus cases since the start of the pandemic. They announced 17-new COVID-19 related deaths Thursday.

(Hanover Township, PA) -- The Hanover Area School District is preparing to start bringing kids back to school with a hybrid instruction model on October 5th. District officials say they were running into the same problems as other districts with virtual learning such as a shortage of laptop computers for students. They added that the percent positivity rate for their communities has been between 2 and 3-percent over the last month, so they will take the next steps to move forward and bring students back to the classroom. Parents will have the option to keep their kids on the virtual learning model, but those that return for the hybrid will have split schedules, mask requirements, protective desk shields and have their body temperatures monitored throughout the day.

According to police, 31-year-old Christopher Vasquez threw bricks at a law enforcement vehicle on the night of September 13th. It's also been alleged he lit an umbrella on fire and threw it inside of a police cruiser. Vasquez faces several charges that include riot and arson. He was arrested on Wednesday.

>>Trucker Sentenced for Crash That Killed Wedding Bound Couple
(Reading, PA) -- A semi driver is facing jail time for his role in a crash that killed a couple bound for their wedding. Jaspreet Chahal learned yesterday that he will spend between just under a year to nearly two years in jail, followed by two years of probation. Court documents say Chahal was talking on his phone while driving in November 2018 when he crashed into a line of stopped vehicles in Windsor Township near Hamburg. Joseph Kearney and Kathryn Schurtz died at the scene.

(Lancaster, PA) -- A 31-year-old Lancaster man is in custody after police say he caused thousands in damage during recent protests in the city. Christopher Vazquez was arrested at his home Wednesday and charged with riot, arson, institutional vandalism, failure to disperse, and disorderly conduct. Investigators believe he caused nearly $28,000 in damages during the protests.

(Harrisburg, PA) -- Governor Tom Wolf is asking GOP lawmakers to stop acting irresponsibly while they are trying to save lives amid the pandemic. The remark came only one day after the house failed to override his veto on a bill that would let schools set attendance limits for sporting events and extra-curricular activities, which Wolf called unnecessary legislation. Wolf says this is not the time for a grandstanding, it is the time to do things that are actually going to help people and save lives. Republicans in the state House and Senate rejected the governor's remarks saying Wolf needs to work with them instead of acting on his own.

(Wilkes-Barre, PA) -- The U.S. Attorney's office is launching a federal investigation into the Luzerne County Bureau of Elections after nine military mail-in ballots had been found in a dumpster.
The U.S. Attorney says it appears that election staff thought they were opening requests for mail-in ballots and not the actual thing, which is an issue they say occurred during the Primary Election in June. Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro says this investigation proves that mail-in ballots are being protected and that law enforcement is working to ensure that legal, eligible votes are being counted.
