Former congressman Lou Barletta has made it official, he is running for Pennsylvania governor in 2022.
Barletta is the first prominent figure to announce his campaign. The former congressman and Hazelton mayor ran an unsuccessful campaign for senate in 2018 losing to Senator Bob Casey.
The announcement was made via a Tweet, Monday morning

He says he wants to focus on helping small businesses and getting students in the classroom.
Barletta is only declared primary opponent so far is Montgomery County Commissioner Joe Gale.
