>>Harrisburg Magisterial District Judge Acquitted On Charges Of Tampering With Evidence

(Harrisburg, PA) -- A Harrisburg magisterial district judge is being cleared of all charges related to her interfering with her son's arrest last year. Magisterial Judge Sonya McKnight was acquitted on charges of tampering with evidence, official oppression and obstruction of law by Dauphin County Senior Judge Stephen Lieberman yesterday. McKnight was accused of interfering with a traffic stop involving her son last February in Harrisburg.

(Harrisburg, PA) -- The Harrisburg School District is moving in the right direction according to the Pennsylvania auditor general. Timothy DeFoor released the final update of his real-time audit of the district yesterday. The auditor general's office has been reviewing the district since June of 2019. DeFoor says a lot of hard work has been done to make sure taxpayer dollars go to the students of the Harrisburg School District.

>>New Oxford Man Arrested In Connection To 1987 Homicide

(Gettysburg, PA) -- A New Oxford man is behind bars after authorities say he admitted to killing a woman over 30 years ago. Christopher Speelman was taken into custody recently, and he is being charged with robbery, rape and homicide for allegedly murdering 85-year-old Edna Laughman at her home in the 15-hundred-block of Carlisle Pike in Oxford Township in 1987. He has been denied bail, and his preliminary hearing is scheduled for August 4th.

>>PA Lottery Ticket Worth More Than $1M Sold In Cumberland County

(Mechanicsburg, PA) -- Someone in Cumberland County is now a whole lot richer. The Pennsylvania Lottery announced yesterday that a Match-Six ticket worth over $1-million was sold at Fine Wine and Good Spirits along Simpson Ferry Road in Mechanicsburg. The store will receive a $10,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket. The lucky winner is being asked to sign the back of the ticket and contact your nearest lottery office to claim your prize.

(Harrisburg, PA) -- COVID-19 cases are increasing in Pennsylvania. The state's Department of Health reported almost one-thousand new positive cases yesterday. Four more people also passed away due to complications of the coronavirus. Officials announced that over eleven-and-a-half-million vaccines have been administered statewide so far.

(Reading, PA) -- Tower Health's Reading Hospital is earning some recognition for being one of the best hospitals in the state. Reading Hospital made the number eight spot on U.S. News and World Report's top ten hospitals in Pennsylvania list. The hospital is nationally ranked in pulmonology and lung surgery, and it is considered to perform highly in four adult specialties and eleven procedures.

(Douglassville, PA) -- A Berks County man is behind bars for allegedly sexually assaulting a young girl. Richard Joseph O'Reilly of Douglassville is charged with aggravated indecent assault, indecent assault, endangering welfare of children and corruption of minors. He is being held at the Berks County Jail on a $25,000 bail.

>>Woman Struck By Hit-And-Run Driver In Lancaster

(Lancaster, PA) -- A woman is recovering at the hospital after she was struck by a hit-and-run driver in Lancaster City. The incident happened last night in the area of Fairview Avenue and Wabank Street. Police say the woman suffered non-life-threatening injuries, but they are still looking for the driver of the vehicle involved.

(Harrisburg, PA) -- The state is not planning on issuing a mask mandate for schools despite the CDC's guidance. The CDC recommends that everyone in schools wear a mask regardless of their vaccination status. Pennsylvania Department of Education officials are recommending that schools follow that guidance, but no mandates are being issued. Officials say they continue to encourage all eligible individuals to get fully vaccinated to protect themselves and their loved ones.

>>Lancaster County Man Arrested In Connection To U.S. Capitol Riot

(Lancaster County, PA) -- A Lancaster County man is the newest Pennsylvanian to be arrested in connection to the riot at the nation's capital on January 6th. Officials say Samuel Lazar of Ephrata pepper-sprayed an officer during the attack, temporarily blinding him. He was arrested on Monday. A woman helped identify him after she noticed he posted photos on Facebook from the Capitol building.

>>Eviction Moratorium Ending This Week

(Harrisburg, PA) -- Hundreds of Pennsylvanians may be at risk of losing their homes as the COVID-19 eviction moratorium is set to expire this week. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention extended the original end date to July 31st. State officials urge those who are at risk of eviction or utility turn-off due to the pandemic to apply for the Emergency Rental Assistance Program as soon as possible to get some help.
