>>Harrisburg Elects Wanda Williams as Mayor

(Harrisburg, PA) -- Harrisburg will soon have a new mayor. In voting Tuesday night, Democrat Wanda Williams had more than 65 percent of the votes, easily outdistancing the 19-hundred write-in votes for incumbent Mayor Eric Papenfuse. Republican Tim Rowbottom trailed with just under 500 votes altogether. Williams, the current city council president, stands to become the city's second Black mayor and second female mayor. Harrisburg is predominantly Black in its demographic make-up.

>>Sherry Capello Remains Lebanon Mayor After Defeating Cesar Liriano

(Lebanon, PA) -- Republican incumbent Sherry Capello will remain the Mayor of Lebanon after defeating Democratic challenger Cesar Liriano in Tuesday night's election. Capello finished the night with over 16-hundred votes, which is just over 59 percent of the votes. Liriano received just under 41 percent. 

>>Commonwealth Court Judge Win Goes to Republican, but Not the Incumbent

(Harrisburg, PA) -- A Republican candidate will be the commonwealth's newest judge, but the incumbent Republican did not win in Tuesday's voting. Stacy Wallace won to incumbent Drew Compton by a little over 100-thousand ballots or nearly 28 percent of the vote. Democrat Lori Dumas drew 24 percent to fellow Democrat David Spurgeon's near 22 percent. In all, just over 4-million 5-hundred thousand ballots were cast in the race.

(State College, PA) -- For the first time in a very long time, Penn State is unranked in the initial College Football Playoff Top 25 ranking. However, the 5-3 Nittany Lions have hung onto the number 23 spot in the USA Today Sports AFCA Coaches Poll. That's despite their three straight losses to Iowa, Illinois, and Ohio State. Entering Saturday's game at Maryland, Penn State ranks No. 12 in the Big Ten and No. 114 nationally in rushing offense.

>>Danene Sorace Re-elected to Third Term as Lancaster Mayor. 

(Lancaster, PA) -- Danene Sorace has handily won another term to serve as Lancaster's Mayor. The Democrat defeated challenger Willie E. Shell Senior by nearly 27-hundred votes. Sorace was elected first elected to serve as the city's mayor in 2018 and is the second woman to hold the post. Prior to serving as Mayor, she served a four-year term on the City Council, where she chaired the finance committee.

>>Car Found, But Lancaster County Woman Still Missing

(Lancaster, PA) -- Police continue their search for a missing Lancaster County woman whom they say hasn't been seen or heard from since she left her home Monday morning. Jennifer Herr drove away from her house in the 100 block of South President Avenue in Lancaster, in her dark gray 2012 Toyota Prius sedan. The car was found Monday night at County Central Park, in West Lampeter Township, where police teams are searching. Herr is white, about 5'7 and weighs about 120 lbs. She has brown, reddish hair and brown eyes. Both the Manheim and West Lampeter police departments are investigating.

>>Lancaster Man Sentenced to Life in Prison for 2019 Shooting

(Lancaster, PA) -- A Lancaster man will spend the rest of his life in prison after his sentencing for a shooting two years ago. Raymond Lydell Speller was found guilty in May in the shooting death of Pedro Almodovar in the 300 block of Howard Avenue in 2019. Lancaster County Judge Jeffrey Wright sentenced him last Friday to life plus seven and a half to 20 years. After he learned his fate, Speller apologized to the victim's family, stating he was not in his right state of mind when the shooting happened. 

>>Soldier Extradited To PA For Alleged Sexual Social Media Contact With Minor Girl

(Mount Joy Township, PA) -- An active-duty soldier stationed in Louisiana has been extradited back to Pennsylvania after he reportedly sexually harassed a 13-year-old girl on social media. Northwest Regional Police Detective Chuck Tobias received a complaint about Ian Jones repeatedly contacting a 13-year-old girl from Mount Joy Township through social media. Jones had been stationed at Fort Polk Army Base. Police allege even though he knew the girl's age, he still tried to solicit sexual videos and sexual contact from her. He's being held in the Lancaster Co. jail on $100,000 bond.

>> Berks County Voters Approve Retaining Both Judges on Tuesday's Ballot,

(Reading, PA) -- With each candidate winning by more than a 70 percent approval, Berks County voters have decided to retain both county judges who appeared on Tuesday's Ballot. Judge Thomas Parisi received just under 40,000 approval votes to win, and Judge Jeffrey Sprecher received nearly 41,000 "yes" votes cast in his race. Mail in-ballots still need to be counted for official results. 

>>Reading Voters Say 'Yes' To Charter Questions On Ballot

(Reading, PA) -- Reading voters have approved a pair of ballot questions concerning the city's home rule charter. The first question, which involved the recall of elected officials, was approved 67 percent to 33 percent. The second question, which called for removing a current provision for amending the charter, was approved 76 percent to 24 percent. It makes the charter consistent now with what state law requires, which is that petitions to change the charter need to go through the board of elections.

>>Republican Declares Victory for Berks Co. Coroner

(Mt. Penn, PA) -- Republican candidate John Fielding has declared victory in his race for coroner in Berks County. His proclamation came Tuesday night in front of supporters in Mt. Penn. With nearly all the 202 precincts reporting their in-person vote totals, Fielding led the incumbent, Democrat Jonn Hollenbach, with 54-percent-to-46-percent of the vote. Mail in-ballots still need to be counted for official results. 

>> U.S. Coast Guard Calls Off Search for Reading Plane off Cape Cod

(Orleans, MA) -- The U.S. Coast Guard is no longer searching for a missing plane from Reading off the coast of Cape Cod, Massachusetts. Officials say they suspended the search Tuesday for the Piper PA-28 aircraft that was reported missing Sunday night. The manager at the municipal airport where the plane was supposed to land says the pilot, 67-year-old Roger Mills, didn't file a flight plan. Because of that, he says the airport didn't know the plane was missing until it was notified. In addition to Coast Guard ships and aircraft, the search included local harbormasters and other vessels.
