(Harrisburg, PA) -- New Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro is highlighting inclusivity, freedom and education as he takes office. The comments came in his inaugural address when the former state attorney general was sworn in Tuesday in Harrisburg as Pennsylvania's 48th governor. Shapiro also said the stories he's heard from everyday people have given him "tremendous motivation."

(Harrisburg, PA) - The commonwealth has a new lieutenant governor and he's a first for the history books. On Tuesday, Austin Davis became the first black lieutenant governor in Pennsylvania. As he took the oath of office, the former state house lawmaker noted that his grandparents, who had moved to the state from the South, would not have in their "wildest dreams" believed their grandson would one day hold the second-highest office in the state. The 33-year-old Democrat was born in McKeesport in Allegheny County.

>>Former State Senate Leader Doug Mastriano Skips Inauguration

(Harrisburg, PA) - State Senator Doug Mastriano, who lost his race for governor last year, didn't attend the inauguration ceremony for Governor Josh Shapiro Tuesday. A spokesperson for the Pennsylvania Senate Majority Leader's office confirmed that Mastriano was not in Harrisburg for Shapiro's inauguration, stating the senator was on personal leave. Mastriano, a Republican, captured 42 percent of the vote to Shapiro's 56 percent in the November election.

>>Coroner Identifies Elderly Woman Who Died in York House Fire

(York County, PA) -- The York County Coroner's Office has released the identify of a woman who died in a house fire Monday. Officials say the exact cause of death for 72-year-old Bonnie Myers is still pending, but they don't believe the fire was suspicious. They say it started in a wood stove in the garage of the home at 1350 Roundtop Road in Warrington Township. The state fire marshal says the home is a total loss.

>>Harrisburg Teen Charged In Monday Morning Rape, Armed Robbery

(Harrisburg, PA) -- An 18-year-old from Harrisburg is being held without bail after he allegedly held up and raped a woman east of downtown. Police responded to the area of South 13th and Berryhill Streets Monday morning to find a woman who'd been attacked. She told officers she tried to fight off a man who'd approached her with a gun, then attacked and robbed her. He was later identified by police as Giovanni Hall and faces counts of rape, robbery, making terroristic threats and other charges.

>>Pennsylvania Medical Marijuana ID Cards To Be Updated

(Harrisburg, PA) -- Some changes are coming to Pennsylvania's ID cards for medical marijuana. The Pennsylvania Department of Health says all state medical marijuana ID cards printed after January 1st of this year have a new design. The new cards will slowly replace the existing cards as patients renew their IDs. The state legalized medical marijuana in 2016, but recreational pot isn't legal yet.

>>State Senators Preparing for Two-Week Shut Down

(Harrisburg, PA) -- State Senators are wrapping up their last few days of work before shutting down for two weeks. Even though lawmakers in the upper house have held debates and voting sessions since the new session started January 3rd, the House hasn't been able to conduct business because of differing opinions on leadership. Late Friday, the Senate canceled its sessions for the weeks of January 23rd and January 30th in part, because the House had not organized itself.

>>PA House Speaker's Bipartisan Group Begins Work On House Rules

(Harrisburg, PA) -- State House Speaker Mark Rozzi has held his first meeting with a group of lawmakers who are trying to break a partisan divide in the chamber. Since Rozzi became speaker two weeks ago, the House has not adopted rules, announced committee membership or held any votes. He said Tuesday the work group is developing proposed rules for the chamber and considering how to make progress on a measure to allow some victims of child sexual abuse to file otherwise outdated lawsuits. Any proposals the group develops will have to be approved by a majority in the House in order to take effect.

>>City of Harrisburg To Offer Help in Moving Homeless Camp from Mulberry Street Bridge

(Harrisburg, PA) -- The City of Harrisburg now says it will use some of its resources to help homeless people move. A vacate deadline had been set for Thursday for people living in an encampment under the Mulberry Street bridge, due to a rat infestation and growing crime. A spokesman for the mayor's office said Tuesday that the city would be making some of its trucks available for the move to a city-designated location. Last week, the city said it didn't have the budget to help.

(Harrisburg, PA) -- A man wanted for a homicide in Carlisle has been arrested in Florida after being on the run for almost a year and a half. State Police say Michael Baltimore, who reportedly once appeared on the reality show '90- Day Fiancé', is now in custody in Broward County, Florida. He is accused of killing the owner of the GQ Barbershop in Carlisle in May of 2021. He is wanted on homicide, assault, and parole violation charges in that case, but first will face numerous drug trafficking, battery and weapons charges in Florida.

>>Water Line Repairs Planned For Wednesday On Cameron Street

(Harrisburg, PA) - PennDOT says you'll want to possibly change routes Wednesday if you usually travel Cameron Street in Harrisburg. Westbound Cameron Street, also known as Route 230, will be down to a single lane so that water line repairs can be made to the system between Herr Street and Arsenal Boulevard. The left lane of westbound Cameron will be closed from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The right lane will stay open. Eastbound traffic won't be affected.

>>Bishop McDevitt Boys And Girls Swimmers Sweep Gettysburg

(Harrisburg, PA) --The Mid-Penn Conference Keystone Division swim meet is underway. The Bishop McDevitt boys' and girls' teams both swept Gettysburg in the dual meet Tuesday. The girls final score was 96-74. The boys final score was 104-66. Bishop McDevitt will travel to Mechanicsburg Thursday for a key MPC meet.
