Former President Trump Says Pennsylvania's Automatic Voter Registration Will Hurt Him
(Harrisburg, PA) -- Former President Trump is voicing his concern over Pennsylvania's switch to automatic voter registration. He wrote in a Truth Social post, the system is "a disaster for the election of Republicans." Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro announced last week that the state would take on the system before the 2024 election. Eligible voters would be automatically opted in when renewing or getting new IDs and driver's licenses. Trump called for fellow Republicans to "start suing now" to stop the change. He won Pennsylvania in 2016 but lost it in 2020.
