State Population Shrinks by 10,000 for This Year

(Harrisburg, PA) -- Census information from the federal government shows the population in Pennsylvania is going down. The Commonwealth reportedly lost about ten-thousand people in 2023. State officials attribute the shrinkage to the state having 11-thousand more deaths than births. Though about 25-thousand residents moved to other states, the commonwealth welcomed 26-thousand newcomers, thanks to domestic migration. Pennsylvania's population is now just about 40-thousand shy of having 13-million-people.
