Improperly Discarded Charcoal Caused Fire that Displaced 130
(Harrisburg, PA) -- The fire at the Northside Village Apartments fire that displaced over a hundred people Sunday was due to improperly discarded charcoal from a grill. The Carlisle Borough Fire Department says fire broke out on a second-floor patio area and had traveled up to the fourth floor on the roof. Officials also say the fire has been declared an accident. Nearly 50 people still need temporary housing and it's not known how long they could be displaced. The Red Cross says they've opened an emergency shelter at Carlisle Church of Christ to help provide assistance.
