>>Five People Seeking Nomination For PA Attorney General

Five Democrats are competing for the party's nomination for Pennsylvania Attorney General in the upcoming primary election on April 23rd. The candidates include current Delaware County District Attorney Jack Stollsteimer, former state auditor general Eugene DePasquale, local prosecutor Joe Khan, State Representative Jared Solomon, and Keir Bradford-Grey, a former chief public defender in Montgomery County.

Jack Stollsteimer, the current District Attorney of Delaware County, has a strong background in law enforcement. Eugene DePasquale, the former state auditor general, is known for his financial expertise and commitment to transparency. Joe Khan, a local prosecutor, has experience in both county and federal prosecution in Bucks County.

State Representative Jared Solomon brings legislative experience to the table, while Keir Bradford-Grey, the only woman in the primary, has a background in public defense. If elected, Bradford-Grey would be the first Black attorney general in the state's history.

The Pennsylvania Attorney General represents the interests of the state and the public, defends Pennsylvania’s laws in court, and prosecutes crimes ranging from drug trafficking to public corruption. The office has been under Democratic control since 2013. The current Attorney General, Michelle Henry, who was nominated by Governor Josh Shapiro to complete his term, is not running for re-election.

The Democratic Party has not endorsed any of the candidates as no one was able to meet the two-thirds threshold to get the endorsement. The winner of the primary will face off against the Republican nominee in the general election in November.
