The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (PLCB) has opened registration for a rare whiskey lottery, offering residents and state liquor license holders the chance to purchase one of over 1,200 limited-release bottles. The lottery, which is open to Pennsylvania residents aged 21 and above, features a range of whiskeys, including the highly sought-after Weller Millennium Straight Bourbon, priced at nearly $7,500 per bottle. More affordable options, such as the Stagg Straight Bourbon Barrel Proof, are also available for around $55.
Participants can enter the lottery by visiting the Limited-Release Lottery web page at Fine Wine & Good Spirits. The registration period will close on Friday at 5:00 p.m. Lottery winners will be selected at random by a computer program, with the drawing witnessed by an independent third party. The PLCB plans to notify all winners and non-winning entrants in the weeks following the lottery's conclusion.
The PLCB has emphasized that the sale of alcoholic beverages without a license is strictly prohibited under Pennsylvania law and has reminded residents to review the lottery's terms and conditions before entering. The PLCB also encourages participants to verify their billing information and delivery location before entering the lottery to prevent transaction delays or cancellations.
