Millersville University recently celebrated its most successful "One Day Give" event, raising a record-breaking $1.1 million on Thursday (February 20). The event saw participation from over 2,400 donors, with most contributions directed towards scholarships and athletics. This marks the highest fundraising total in the twelve-year history of the event.
According to Millersville University, the generosity of the community has created a lasting impact on student success. Vice President for Advancement Victor Ramos emphasized the importance of these funds, stating that scholarship dollars help students focus on their studies without the burden of additional work hours to cover educational costs.
The event, which allows donors to choose where their contributions go, has seen significant growth compared to last year's total of $826,000. The university community's enthusiasm and support have been pivotal in achieving this milestone, as reported by ABC27.
