Off-Duty Officers No Longer Allowed To Patrol Downtown Harrisburg
(Dauphin County, PA) -- Harrisburg police officers will no longer work security downtown while off-duty. WHP-TV reports the city is ending its policy allowing officers to be paid by local businesses for late-night patrols. The change is being made following an incident outside a nightclub last week that was widely shared on social media. Some business owners fear a lower police presence could lead to more issues heading into the summer.
