Noel Falk, known as "The Plant Doctor," is a gardening expert and radio host. Tomorrow (Saturday, May 31) the final Rooster will crow as Noel Falk will retire from radio after 40+ years on WHP 580.
"The Plant Doctor," has had a diverse career in education, natural sciences, and media. Born in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, he developed a passion for the outdoors early on. He earned a B.S. in Biology from Messiah College and later completed his master's degree at Shippensburg University. Falk went on to earn a Doctorate of Education in Biological Sciences from Penn State University.
During his tenure at Messiah College, he served as a professor of Natural History and chaired the Department of Natural Sciences for 18 years. He also founded and directed the Oakes Museum of Natural History. Beyond academia, Falk became a well-known gardening expert, hosting The Plant Doctor Show on WHP 580 and appearing on WHP-TV. He has written gardening columns for The Patriot News and Hanover Evening Sun and authored The Plant Doctor's Prescription for a Healthy Garden.
In addition to his work in plant care, Falk has been involved in conservation efforts, serving as Director of Wildwood Park in Dauphin County.
