18-Wheeler Hangs Off York Bridge
Part of Interstate 83 in York, Pennsylvania, was shut down Sunday evening (June 8) after a dramatic crash left an 18-wheeler hanging off a bridge. The incident occurred near the Market Street exit, Exit 19, in East York. According to 511PA, the crash was reported around 6 p.m., and a PennDOT spokesperson confirmed that the tractor-trailer was left dangling over a rail yard from the end of a concrete bridge.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and the truck has since been safely removed from the precarious position. Crews are scheduled to return to the scene this morning to evaluate any damage to the bridge, though initial assessments suggest it is not significant.
