A Berks County teenager, reported missing in June 2024, has been found safe in High Point, North Carolina. The 15-year-old girl was discovered at a residence on Treyburn Lane on Monday (June 16) after police received a tip about her whereabouts. Officers found her living with 32-year-old Joseph Rossomando, who is now facing multiple charges, including human trafficking and statutory rape.
According to the High Point Police Department, Rossomando was also found in possession of child sexual abuse materials. During their investigation, detectives executed a search warrant and seized several electronic devices from the home.
Rossomando is currently being held without bond at the Guilford County Jail. The case has raised concerns in the local community, with neighbors expressing shock and urging vigilance. "It makes you want to get to know your neighbors a little better just to protect each other," one neighbor told WXII.
The discovery of the missing teen brings relief to her family and community, who have been waiting for her safe return for nearly a year. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding her disappearance and time in North Carolina.
