Rep. Perry: "World Safer" After U.S. Airstrikes In Iran
(Washington, DC) -- Pennsylvania Congressman Scott Perry is sending "congratulations, prayers, and praise" to the U.S. military after the bombing of nuclear sites in Iran. The Republican from York County said Iran's nuclear program was always about military weapons, and the world is now safer after what he called "President Trump's decisive action." U.S. airstrikes over the weekend hit three Iranian nuclear facilities, including the fortified Fordow facility. Perry said he hopes this is the military's "final role in this dangerous and delicate situation."

Iran launched missiles into Israel following U.S. airstrikes on Iranian nuclear sites ordered by President Donald Trump. The strikes targeted facilities at Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan, with President Trump claiming the sites were "totally obliterated." The U.S. military used bunker buster bombs and Tomahawk missiles in the operation, which was part of "Operation Midnight Hammer."
In response, Iran fired approximately 30 missiles at Israel, injuring at least a dozen people. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) retaliated with strikes on Iranian targets, including six airports and a ballistic missile launch site. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that Israel's actions aim to eliminate threats from Iran's nuclear and missile programs.
The conflict has led to travel disruptions and increased global tensions. The U.S. State Department issued a worldwide caution for American travelers, citing potential demonstrations against U.S. citizens. Meanwhile, oil prices have surged due to fears of further escalation in the Middle East.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio is seeking China's help to pressure Iran to keep the Strait of Hormuz open, a critical shipping lane for global oil supply. Australia expressed support for the U.S. strikes, emphasizing the need to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons.
Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei vowed to punish Israel for its actions, further fueling the ongoing conflict. As the situation unfolds, both nations continue to engage in retaliatory strikes.
