Report: Power Surge Causes Nursing Home Fire, Air Conditioning Outage
(Lancaster County, PA) -- Officials say a power surge caused a fire at a nursing home in Lancaster County on Tuesday. The blaze was reported at a facility on the 400 block of East Lancaster Avenue in Denver Borough shortly after eight p.m. Nobody was injured, but WHP-TV reports air conditioning to the building was shut off following the fire, impacting at least 100 elderly residents. The Red Cross was called to the home last night to assist the residents, and PPL says the issue will be resolved early this morning.
