A shooting in Steelton, Pennsylvania, early Sunday morning has prompted Mayor Ciera Dent to issue an emergency proclamation. The incident occurred around 4 a.m. near Pine Street and River Alley. In response, the mayor ordered the closure of the Soul Lounge on North Front Street until the Borough Council is briefed on the situation.
The Dauphin County Criminal Investigation Division is leading the investigation. Mayor Dent emphasized the importance of public safety, stating, "The safety and well-being of our residents is my top priority." She reassured the community that the situation is being taken seriously and that the borough is fully cooperating with the investigation.
According to WGAL, the shooting led to the temporary closure of North Front Street between Locust Street and Frank S. Brown Boulevard. Police line tape was still present around 11:15 a.m. on Sunday, though no officers were at the scene.
