According to CBS 21, a flood warning was issued for southeastern Central Pennsylvania, advising residents to avoid travel until conditions improved. The region has experienced substantial rainfall, increasing the risk of flash flooding. Areas such as Harrisburg, Elizabethtown, and City Island have also reported water rescues and road closures.
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation closed Route 283 eastbound between the Rheems/Elizabethtown and Mount Joy/Route 772 exits around 4:13 p.m. All lanes were reopened by 5:50 p.m., but heavy traffic persisted on both eastbound and westbound lanes.
