(Steelton, PA) -- Dauphin County officials say the 9-1-1 system outage last weekend was caused by a faulty switch. The county says a switch in its server room had a technical glitch Saturday morning, preventing some callers from being heard by dispatchers. It reportedly took over two hours for crews to restart the switch, during which time Dauphin 9-1-1 calls were transferred to Cumberland County. Thanks to the outside help, dispatchers did not miss a single 9-1-1 call during the outage.
