Pride Of The Susquehanna Set To Be Put Back In The Water

The Pride of the Susquehanna riverboat, a beloved floating landmark in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, is set to return to the water this summer after being out of service in 2024 due to necessary repairs. The Harrisburg Area Riverboat Society, a nonprofit organization that owns the riverboat, has been working on these repairs and is seeking community support to keep the boat operational.

According to CBS21, the riverboat society is organizing a "Keep Our Paddles Turning" benefit concert to raise funds for the ongoing renovations. The concert is scheduled for May 31 at The Forum in Harrisburg and will feature performances by Quentin Jones, Tommy Conwell, and Daryl Davis. Ticket prices range from $50 to $150, with VIP tickets including food, drink, and a t-shirt.

Tom Farr, director of operations for the Harrisburg Area Riverboat Society, emphasized the importance of community involvement, stating, "We rely on you to keep this boat up and running and remember this boat is not owned by the city or the state." The riverboat is expected to resume operations this summer, providing scenic tours along the Susquehanna River.

The Pride of the Susquehanna has been a cherished part of the community, and its return is eagerly anticipated by residents and visitors alike.
