>Lancaster County Native Kurtz Has Record Performance
(Houston, TX) -- A Lancaster County native made baseball history on Friday. Athletics designated hitter Nick Kurtz became the first rookie in Major League history to hit four home runs in a game as the A's beat the Houston Astros 15-3. Kurtz went six-for-six with eight runs batted in and homered off of each of Houston's four pitchers. The 22-year-old was born and raised in Lancaster before moving to Tennessee after his freshman year in high school.
