Investigation Continues into Lancaster County Crash

An investigation is underway following a crash in East Lampeter Township, Pennsylvania, involving a Pennsylvania State Trooper and a truck, which resulted in four people being hospitalized. The incident occurred on Wednesday (July 30) around 5 p.m. on Lincoln Highway East, also known as Route 30. According to the Pennsylvania State Police, the crash happened when a truck crossed in front of the trooper's vehicle, causing the trooper to collide with the truck. The truck then crashed into the Lancaster Home and Fabric store, pinning an employee behind the cash register.

Lloyd Esh, the owner of the store, described the scene as traumatic, stating, "It's traumatic, I mean you have no idea as you're standing there taking care of a customer and suddenly a truck comes through the wall." The store has been a fixture along the busy Route 30 for 32 years, and Esh noted that the area is prone to accidents.

The employee who was pinned is expected to recover, but remains in the hospital. The conditions of the trooper and the two occupants of the truck are currently unknown. The state police are continuing to investigate the incident. As reported by CBS21, the crash is being investigated by the Lancaster State Police Patrol Unit.

Yahoo News notes that the trooper was responding to a separate crash in Paradise Township with lights and sirens when the collision occurred. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to determine the full circumstances surrounding the crash.
