The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has announced a recall of over 64,000 pounds of NH European Style Butter Blend due to undeclared milk allergens. Bunge North America initiated the voluntary recall on July 14, affecting 1,800 cases distributed across 12 centers in the United States and one in the Dominican Republic. The FDA has classified this as a Class II recall, indicating that the product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences, although the probability of serious consequences is remote.
The affected butter was packaged in white paperboard cases, each containing 36 blocks. As of July 30, no illnesses or adverse events related to the butter have been reported. The recall is part of a series of recent food-related recalls, including mislabeled High Noon Hard Seltzers and New Mexico Piñon Coffee pods.
Consumers who have purchased the recalled butter are advised to check for specific identification information and contact the place of purchase for further instructions. The FDA continues to monitor the situation to ensure consumer safety.
