Two Crashes Causes I-83 Traffic Jam

Heavy traffic on Interstate 83 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, was caused by two separate crashes on Sunday (August 3). The first crash occurred at 11:46 a.m. in the southbound lane near Exit 44A: PA 230 – 13th Street. Just six minutes later, a second crash happened in the northbound lane, leading to the closure of I-83 Northbound from the 19th Street exit to Paxton Street.

The highway remained closed until around 4:30 p.m., causing significant traffic delays in the area. At least one person was injured, but their condition remains unknown. The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is currently investigating both incidents to determine the causes.

As Local21News reported, these crashes highlight ongoing traffic challenges on I-83, which is a vital route for commuters and travelers in the region. More information will be released as the investigation continues.
