A man from Lebanon County, Pennsylvania, faces serious charges after two infants were hospitalized with severe injuries. Michael Santana Sanchez, 25, is accused of abusing two-and-a-half-month-old twins, causing significant harm to both children. The abuse allegedly occurred from May to July.
According to CBS21, one of the infants, a girl, was admitted to Good Samaritan Hospital on July 1 with critical injuries, including skull and rib fractures and numerous bruises. Due to the severity of her condition, she was transferred to Penn State Health Milton Hershey Medical Center. Her twin brother was also evaluated and found to have similar injuries, such as bruising, rib fractures, and broken blood vessels in his eye.
The Lebanon County Detective Bureau reported that the injuries were consistent with repetitive physical child abuse. Santana Sanchez allegedly admitted to causing the injuries, as detailed in the criminal complaint.
He faces multiple charges, including felony aggravated assault on a victim less than 13, endangering the welfare of children, and misdemeanor simple assault. After his arraignment, Santana Sanchez was placed in Lebanon County Prison with bail set at $750,000. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Thursday (August 7).
