State Police are investigating an officer-involved shooting that occurred Monday evening (August 25) in Lemoyne, Pennsylvania. According to authorities, officers from the West Shore Regional Police Department responded to a distress call on Lowther Street in Lemoyne Borough around 6:45 p.m. Upon arrival, the officers encountered a man who brandished what appeared to be a handgun. In response, the officers shot the man.
The individual was transported to a hospital for treatment, but the police have not released information regarding his condition or identity. The number of officers involved in the incident is also unclear, but none of the officers were injured during the encounter.
The investigation is ongoing as State Police work to gather more details about the incident. Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.

West Shore Regional Police- Officer Involved Shooting
Lemoyne – On August 25, at 645 p.m., Officers from West Shore Regional Police Department responded to 3 Lowther St., Lemoyne Borough, for reports of a person in distress. Upon arrival, the Subject brandished what appeared to be handgun at the responding officers. Officer(s) discharged their firearm(s), striking the subject. The subject is currently receiving medical treatment at a local hospital. The name of the subject will not be released at this time.
No officers were injured. There is no threat to the public. PSP Troop H- Major Case Team is currently investigating this incident in consultation with the Cumberland County District Attorney’s Office. More information will be released as soon as it becomes available.
