Dauphin Commissioners Urge State Lawmakers To Pass Budget
(Dauphin County, PA) -- Dauphin County officials say the state budget delay is costing local governments money. County Commissioners unanimously approved a resolution yesterday making an "urgent appeal" for state lawmakers to return to the Capitol and get the overdue budget done. The county said the two-month delay is costing taxpayers, as money spent without a budget is often not reimbursed. The Democratic-majority House and Republican-led Senate are reportedly still apart on several budget items, including funding for education and mass transit.
