Record Traffic At HIA Last Month

Harrisburg International Airport (HIA) experienced its busiest month ever in July 2025, with over 152,000 passengers passing through its gates. This marks the second consecutive month of record-breaking traffic for the airport. Executive Director Timothy J. Edwards expressed gratitude to travelers, saying, "Thank you to everyone choosing to fly from HIA, and please tell your family and friends about your experience."

The airport's growth has been consistent, with 18 straight months of year-over-year increases in passenger numbers. From January to July 2025, HIA served 929,472 passengers, setting a new seven-month record. The airport's success is attributed to the expanding flight options and increased airline services, which are expected to continue growing. For the remainder of the year, seats for sale are up 13% compared to last year, with airlines like American, Delta, and United increasing their services.

HIA's growth reflects the stable and diverse economy of central Pennsylvania and an expanding population. The airport's expanded service is keeping more trips local, reducing the need for travelers to drive to larger airports.

The airport anticipates continued growth through the end of the year, with more flights and destinations becoming available to passengers.

FlyHIA reported on the airport's record-breaking month, highlighting the significant increase in passenger numbers and the ongoing expansion of services.
