A six-year-old boy named Faiz Sharif remains in "extremely serious condition" after being struck by a vehicle at the Kipona Festival in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. The incident occurred last Monday (September 1) when a red minivan drove through a closed street, hitting Faiz and two others. Faiz has undergone multiple emergency surgeries for injuries including a fractured pelvis, broken jaw, and lacerated spleen. Despite the stabilization of his life-threatening injuries, Faiz has not yet regained consciousness, according to his family.
The alleged driver, Elizabeth Ann Bohrer, 37, faces charges including aggravated assault by vehicle and driving under the influence (DUI). Harrisburg Police reported that Bohrer appeared "out of it" during her arrest and continued to fall asleep during questioning. The crash also injured a local photographer, Morgan Smoker, and a Harrisburg city worker. Both are expected to recover.
The Sharif family has expressed gratitude for the community's support and has launched a GoFundMe campaign to assist with Faiz's recovery. They continue to request prayers for his healing. As the investigation proceeds, Dauphin County District Attorney Fran Chardo confirmed Bohrer's suspected DUI status.
