New H-1B Visa Fee

New H-1B Visa Fee

(Washington, DC) -- The White House is trying to calm worries in the business community caused by President Trump's new fee for H-1B visas. On Friday, Trump signed a proclamation that imposes a 100-thousand-dollar fee on foreign workers who want to obtain a visa to work in the U.S. The fee went into effect at midnight. On Saturday, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt tried to calm fears about the proclamation, and said it was not an annual fee but a one-time fee, and that it applies only to new visas, not renewals for current visa holders. She said existing H-1B holders can continue to leave and re-enter as they do right now.
