Authorities are investigating a deadly crash that occurred in York County on Sunday morning (September 28). The single-vehicle accident took place around 7:30 a.m. on the I-83 South off-ramp to Limekiln Road in Fairview Township. According to Local 21 News, the crash led to the closure of the exit ramp for several hours. Emergency responders, including a coroner, were called to the scene shortly after the incident.
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) confirmed that the crash involved only one vehicle. As reported by PennLive, the ramp remained closed for more than three hours while state police conducted their investigation. The identity of the victim has not been released, and it is unclear if there were any additional injuries.
The exit where the crash occurred is located just before the ramp leading to the Pennsylvania Turnpike on the northern edge of York County. The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
